This is the part where I talk about my love of animals, and incorporate the past couple of months of my life into this page. It's the best way for me to describe everything I've been through, and talk about my beliefs at the same time.

*.GOLDFINGER.*

This is the best place for me to start, I think.

Wait, back up a second...

First, Ed drove out here from Seattle to hang out for a while.. Before he came, he was fortunate enough to get offered a job working at two Goldfinger shows in New York. Convenient, right?

Anyway.. That's how it started. I ended up being a tag-along to the first show.. And after that show, Ed decided that he wanted to work on the rest of the shows that were happening in the North Eastern part of the country.

The Cause: Well, if you know anything about Goldfinger, then you know that John (vocalist) is a hardcore vegan and animal rights advocate. And if you know anything about me and Ed, we are also. (I actually just recently became vegan after being vegetarian for 8 years). Ed's job at the shows was to sit at a table handing out vegan propaganda for Action For Animals and showing the horrid video 'Meet Your Meat'....

I ended up really enjoying the first real show (I say real because Saratoga Springs was LAME) in Syracuse... So I asked if I could come along to all of the other shows (minus the ones that I had to work during)...

So that's what I did. I ended up spending a ton of time with an incredible band, going around to different places spreading the word on veganism and animal rights, and having more fun than I've ever had in my entire life. It was an experience I will NEVER forget.

At the shows, we pretty much just sat around and talked to people that came up to us about being vegan and the benefits. Most of the time loud music was playing, so we just handed out different flyers on veganism, animal rights, and animal abuse.

At the end of every night, John and Brian came out to the table and did signings of the 'Why Vegan?' books. I thought this was a wonderful way to get kids to learn about being vegan, and I really think that it helped to change the way at least a few people felt about eating meat and dairy.

It's a really great booklet that explains the benefits of being vegan, as well as going into detail the cruel treatment of animals in the meat and dairy industry. It also provides meal substitutes and some awesome vegan recipes.

Becomming vegan is not as hard as people make it out to be. You just have to have an open mind and you have to be willing to make a lot of changes in your lifestyle.
